Better Law Blog Referral Source? Twitter or Facebook

Yesterday, I was looking at a break down of this site’s traffic on Google Analytics. Google Analytics provides me with all sorts of data about my site. Pretty much right down to what my readers are wearing when they read my posts.

Here’s a chart that kind of surprised me. It’s my referral sources. Anytime, someone got to my site from another site (e.g. google, the Hartford Courant, Facebook, and Twitter):

For reasons known only to God, I have 662 followers on Twitter. For a point of reference, I have 627 “friends” on Facebook.

Guess which slice of that pie chart accounts for twitter referrals?

My Thoughts On Judicial Branch Staffing Numbers

Here’s where I think the Hanging Shad got it wrong. He wrote:

There are several possible reasons for the dramatic increase but one of them is not the fact that marshals—in charge of courthouse security, prisoner transportation and such—were made employees of the judicial branch when the state reformed the old sheriffs’ system. That happened in 2000 and the change is reflected in the 2001 number.

Judicial Branch Has Increased Staff By 38% Over 10 Years????

The Hanging Shad Blog reports that CT’s Judicial Branch has 1,150 more employees than it did 10 years ago.

The Blog post does not link the report that it is citing. Its author goes on to speculate about various potential causes such as increased security and support staff for judges.

I’m not buying it.
