Some Links: Abolition, Beer, and Charity

It snowed yesterday. I spent 4 hours shoveling my driveway. My driveway is not that long.

All I have for you today are some links:

Death penalty abolition bill may be tougher to pass than it was the first time. It’s a shame. Connecticut’s death penalty serves no purpose and it costs the State a lot of money. Money that could be spent on higher and better things.

Governor Malloy promises to sign a bill repealing the ban on Sunday liquor sales. It’s about time. This is another law that serves no purpose and economically harms our State.

I got a shout out from the Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham. This year I’m helping to coordinate an effort to raise $100,000 for the Jimmy Fund. I’m helping a group of 27 runners train for a fall half marathon. Each runner has pledged $500. I will be running the Hartford Marathon wearing a Dana Farber singlet.
