Hartford Civil Superior Court

Civil cases are heard in Hartford Superior Court. Civil cases include personal injury cases such as car accidents, medical malpractice, dog bites, wrongful death cases. and trucking accidents. Criminal cases, housing cases, and family cases are heard at locations other than 95 Washington Street.

Above is a map that I have drawn (I was never good at art). But I think the map works. The blue lines show where you can park on the street. Street parking is common at Hartford Superior court. Though at busy times, it may be hard to find a spot on Washington or Lafayette Street. And you may want to try parking on Oak Street.

Hartford Superior Court is located at 95 Washington Street in Hartford.

Street parking costs $.25 for 15 minutes. And you are able to purchase 4 hour blocks of time. The meters take both cash and credit card.

Hartford also allows you to pay by app. You may want to download Woonerf before you leave for court. You can easily enter your credit card information, license plate, and the zone when you arrive at your destination. The app will update you while you are in court and you can add time from your phone. It is convenient.

The green arrow is a pay lot at the corner of Lafayette and Grand Street. The cost there changes from time to time. Currently, in 2017, your only option is to pay by the day. If you are going to be in court for only a few hours it will be more expensive than street parking. If you are going to be there all day or don’t like street parking it is a good value.

Before you go, you may wish to check out Hartford Parking Regulations to avoid a ticket.
