CT Properties In Foreclosure To Be Listed Online

by Ryan McKeen

I just got an invoice from the Hartford Courant to list a property that is in foreclosure.  The amount of the invoice $2777.48. That’s for one of those small ads you see in the Real Estate section of the Sunday Courant.  The $2777.48 is the price for one of those ads to run twice.

Who ultimately pays for these ads? Usually, the homeowner whose property is being foreclosed.

Effective November 1, 2009 any court ordered advertisement must be posted on the Judicial Branch website in addition to being placed in the newspaper.

This will provide CT residents who don’t subscribe to a newspaper the opportunity to view listings online. Hopefully this will result in more bidders at auction and more money to homeowners.
