When Do You Decide It’s Time For A New Cell Phone?

Every so often, I get cell phone lust. Now is one of those times.

My phone is ancient. It’s a year and a half old. It’s vastly underpowered compared with today’s phones. Sure it does most of what I want – email, a calendar, and internet. But it doesn’t do everything and other phones certainly do other things better. Hence the lust.

My two year contract with Sprint is up in October. This makes me a cell phone free agent. I’m considering purchasing the Sprint Nexus S 4G but I’m not sold on its camera and I want to take pictures. To complicate matters more, Sprint could be announcing an iPhone in a matter of weeks. What if the iPhone is better than the Nexus 4G?

Anyhow, I over think such decisions. Right now, I’m busy and tired and cell phones are on my mind. The sun can’t come out soon enough.

When do you decide it’s time to upgrade your phone?
