CT Personal Injury Lawyer

Sorry Kids

In thumbing through the Connecticut General Statutes, I came across this law:

“No person under eighteen years of age shall be admitted to any professional boxing exhibition, provided any person fourteen years of age or over may be admitted when accompanied by his parent or guardian.” Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 29-143x.

The penalty for daring to enter a boxing exhibition under the age of 18 or over the age of 14 without a parent or guardian shall be a fine of not more than two hundred dollars.  Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 29-143z.

I have no idea if this law has ever been enforced. Nor do I have any idea when the last “boxing exhibition” of any great importance that took place in Connecticut, at a venue not on Tribal land was, but I’ll sleep more soundly knowing that the legislature has protected us in the Nutmeg State from the ills of minors attending boxing exhibitions.
