Insurance Probably Won’t Be Paying For Your Medical Marijuana

Senate Bill 1015 is called an “Act Concerning the Palliative Use of Marijuana”.

The bill makes it legal for doctors to prescribe marijuana for patient’s with certain conditions including cancer, MS, HIV and AIDS.

The bill makes it expressly clear that insurance companies do not have to provide coverage for the palliative use of medical marijuana.

So instead of asking, “what’s the co-pay on a dime bag” patients will likely be paying out of pocket for their pot.
