Connecticut Rain Law (No, it won’t make it stop)

It feels as if it’s rained everyday for as long as I can remember.

It’s mid-August and at this time of year my lawn is usually brown.

This year, passengers on plans flying over my house may think they’re on approach to Cork, Ireland.

Yes, Connecticut does have a law dealing pertaining to rain:

Any state agency or commercial enterprise that begins installation of an automatic lawn sprinkler system on or after October 1, 2003, shall equip such sprinkler system with a rain sensor device or switch that will automatically override the irrigation cycle of such sprinkler system when adequate rainfall has occurred. Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 29-265b(a).

At least some of Connecticut’s sprinklers have had a nice summer vacation.
