Breaking CT Legal News: Above The Law Reports That Day Pitney Lays Off 66 Staff; Layoffs Also At Updike Kelly

Link.

Article says layoffs across all firm offices.  No associate layoffs.

According to its website, Day Pitney has Connecticut offices in Hartford, West Hartford, Greenwich, New Haven and Stamford.

Memo from co-chair of exective committee states that affected staff will be provided severance packages.

A sad day for all those impacted to be sure.

Based on Above The Law’s daily onslaught of legal layoff news over the past few months – this likely isn’t the last for Connecticut firm layoffs in the near future. I’d expect more news of layoffs  to roll out in the coming weeks and months.

Update: CT Law Tribune article on layoffs. 33 CT employees at Day Pitney. Updike Kelly lays off 3 staff and 2 first year associates. Link.

Is Thursday the new Friday when it comes to layoffs? Last Thursday, 1200 in the legal profession lost their jobs.
