ABA Litigation Podcasts…Cool!!!

by Ryan McKeen

I am a total and complete nerd.

Yesterday in the mail I received a CD from the ABA Section of Litigation. The CD contained 6 podcasts. Each podcast is approximately 10 minutes in length.

Being the technophile that I am, I had no use for the CD format. Why put in a CD if I can download straight from iTunes to my iPod Touch?

Fortunately, the CD envelope contained a link for me to download the podcast.  Here is ths the link. There are many more podcasts available online than what I received on the CD.

The topics cover a wide range of subject matter. Everything from deposition techniques to effective discovery to closing arguments.

This morning when I went for my run I passed on my usual playlist which includes Bruce Springsteen (Baby we were born to run!), 2Pac,  Pearl Jam,  The Killers, Rage Against the Machine, Notorious B.I.G., Bob Dylan and Queen. Instead, this morning’s playlist included a a few ABA Litigation podcasts.

And you know what? I loved it.

The podcast on depositions was concise, useful and entertaining. What more can a man ask for?

It’s called the practice of law for a reason. It requires practice. Practice involves training an education.

The problem for the modern lawyer is time.  Days are long and busy. The fact that I can learn from other lawyers as I train is awesome.

Put technology to work for you and check out the ABA Litigation podcasts. I think you’ll be glad that you did.

I’ve seen (technically heard) the future of attorney education. And the future was on my arm this morning.
